Orbit DVD is an other place in Asheville, North Carolina. It is listed at 781 Haywood Rd, Asheville, NC 28806, which places it among the local businesses of Asheville that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as dvd store, tourist attraction, video game store, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Places that do not fit a cafe, bakery, tea, breakfast or nearby-store category land here: tourist attractions, parks and museums with a cafe on site, and unrelated businesses that came in through an import or a Google Maps match. Attraction cafes usually keep the venue's hours and may require admission to reach, so check before making the trip; park kiosks and museum coffee counters are often seasonal. Other listings are kept so that an old address or phone number still resolves and can be re-filed into the right category later.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 12–7 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Orbit DVD at (828) 251-1337; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, orbitdvd.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 842 reviews, which is a strong result for an other place in Asheville and suggests consistent service.

Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Traffic in Asheville peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. I'm a horror lover and went in looking with a list. I found several of the movies I was looking for and I had great conversation with two guys on the staff. It's not a thrift store; it's a movie store-- be willing to spend anywhere from $10 to $40 per film. Some of the movies are Region 2, so be careful and look at the labels when you purchase. Large selection of grindhouse, horror, Asian, Criterion, and Arrow. Games as well, although I can't speak heavily on that as a mediocre gamer.

I would have to agree with another reviewer on here about orbit downsizing. One of my favorite things about the shop was the books and when I went there last week, they had no books at all anymore. There are way fewer video games and no strategy guides anymore. The staff is very friendly and the video section is always top-notch.

Do not want to give a low review because this was my favorite store and the staff is amazing, but there’s no reason for me to go anymore. This used to be my favorite place in Asheville, but the owner has decided to get rid of all of the books. About last year, there was an entire section of the store for dark and gothic booksβ€” it was incredible. Then they downsized massively to only a case or so. Today, it was about 10 books. Please reinvest in the books! πŸ“š so many of us loved them

I’ve gone to this store for many years and I have to say, I love this place. My fiancΓ© and I used to live in the area but even though we moved, we still make it a point to come to Asheville at least once a year; specifically to come to this store. The reason we are so drawn to this place has to be the workers. They are all so knowledgeable and fun to talk to. They know so much about the movies there, to the point I love to blind grab movies, ask them what they think, add whatever movies they suggest, and I always leave with the perfect additions to my collection. The store wouldn’t be the same without the workers! Thank you to my movie guys! I included a picture of some of the books/movies we’ve gotten on our recent and past Orbit visits.

I recently purchased the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4K UHD Trilogy Limited Edition, from Orbit DVD, by Arrow Video. My first purchase with Orbit DVD, and I gotta say I’m very pleased. Not only did I get my order before the actual release day, but it was packaged well and shipped fast. I placed my order & it shipped that same day. I wanted to post a review on their website, but I could not see the option to do so. So thank you Orbit DVD, for the early Xmas present, childhood nostalgia! πŸ₯·πŸ’β˜ΊοΈπŸ˜‡πŸ€“ This is my 2nd purchase with OrbitDVD, well actually 3rd, but I cancelled my pre-order, even though their policy says otherwise. My 1st was the 4K Arrow Video TMNT Box set which arrived before the actual release date, and was packaged carefully. I pre-ordered the latest Highlander 4K collectors edition, but I changed my mind, because I just bought the previous 4K release from both the UK, Lionsgate. Luckily, they were able to cancel it, even though their policy prohibits cancelling pre-orders. Now I recently purchased Legacy of Rage Deluxe Edition from 88 Films, unfortunately it’s region B, I own a Blu-ray region free player, but I forgot how to change regions, and the instructions along w
